DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIA GMC HANDWARA

The department of anesthesiology has come up recently with a faculty strength of one professor, one associate professor and two assistant professors. The primary aim of the department is to provide specialized anesthesia care services to patients belonging to district Kupwara, Handwara and other far flung areas like Karan, Karna etc. Presently two operation theatres are operational in old sub district hospital Handwara which are providing round the clock services to specialties like Gynae obstetrics, general and minimal access surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology etc. All this will boost patient care services and many sub and super specialty operations will be carried out which will reduce the referral of patients to other higher centers.

Vision :

  • Quality patient care services.
  • Training & teaching of undergraduate students.
  • Starting higher courses like DNB & in the long run MD Anaesthesia.
