It is a matter of proud privilege for me to take over as founder Principal of Govt.Medical College Handwara. It will be my earnest endeavour to put in all my concerted efforts in overcoming all the challenges that are always there once any new medical institution is conceptualized.Teaching ,patientcare and research which are the pillars of any medical school will be my targeted focus..We have a dedicated faculty team who have joined this institution and I am confident that with their support and with the support of the consultants and the staff which was already in place in Associated District Hospital Handwara, a state of art institution will come up in this area in the shortest possible time.We will all work collectively with a lot of zeal so as to ensure that best healthcare services are provided to our patients who otherwise have to travel long distances for the same as they usually come from farflung border areas of North Kashmir. I look forward to seeing this medical school over a period of time find a place in the best medical institutions of the country .
